Philadelphia
Weekend
I recently traveled to Philadelphia for the weekend and visited the following gardens and museum. The Morris Arboretum and Shofuso Japanese House were both beautiful. Morris Arboretum is very large so wear comfortable shoes. It has the most unique bird nest for humans I have ever seen nestled in the treat tops, a train garden for kids and sculptured gardens. It also had swans and Canadian geese.
The Shofuso
Japanese House and Garden is small but really tranquil. It is worth a visit. Be prepared to take off your shoes if you are
going to enter the house.
The African
American Museum was so interesting. I
had just planned to spend about a half hour in the museum since I was on a
tight schedule, but I became so intrigued with movie about the Freedom Riders
playing on the fourth floor I did not leave the museum for two hours.
